Certification audits include both an assessment of the food safety management system documentation as well as the on-site operation standards being maintained.
The size of the business will determine the length of the audit process, however clients have the option of the desk top (documentation) assessment being undertaken either at the site or off site. This would be required to be completed prior to the on-site operation food safety assessment.
As long as the business has no critical non conformances identified, then certification is issued subject to closure of all major and minor non conformances.
